Overview

Issachar's Calendar is a Hebrew calendar reference app for iOS. This privacy policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what we do not collect.

The short version: we collect nothing about you. The app uses your approximate location only on your device to calculate local sunset times. No personal data is stored, transmitted, or shared.

Location Data

The app requests access to your device's approximate location for one purpose: calculating the local sunset time so the Hebrew day rolls over correctly at sundown.

• Your location is used only on your device.
• It is never transmitted to any server.
• It is never stored beyond the current session.
• It is never shared with any third party.
• You may deny location permission at any time in iOS Settings. The app will continue to function using a default location.

Data We Do Not Collect

Issachar's Calendar does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email address, or any identifying information
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Crash reports sent to us (iOS may send crash data to Apple separately, per Apple's own privacy policy)
• Any financial information (donations are handled by the platform store you downloaded the app from)

No Account Required

The app requires no account, login, or registration. Your settings and anything you create in the app — such as markers, journal notes, and saved days — are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. They are never synced to, transmitted to, or stored on any server.

Purchases & Subscriptions

The app offers optional paid features (the “Watchman” tier) as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, along with optional gifts of support. All purchases and gifts are handled securely by the platform store you downloaded the app from (Apple's App Store, or in the future Google Play). All payment information is handled entirely by the store and is subject to its own privacy practices. We do not see or store any payment information.

Content Delivery

Calendar content (Hebrew month descriptions, feast day information, scripture event data) is fetched from our database on first launch and cached on your device for offline use. This connection is made over HTTPS and does not involve any personal data.

AI-Assisted Content

Some of the devotional content in the app was researched and drafted with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by a human curator before publication. No AI system has access to your device or data.

Children's Privacy

Issachar's Calendar does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no user accounts, no messaging features, and no data collection of any kind.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
